On behalf of the Trustees and the
Executive Officers of the Florida Kiwanis Foundation (FKF), I want to
take a moment to thank every Kiwanian in the Florida District who has
so far this year. If your Club has not already contributed $6 per
member to the Foundation, please contact your Foundation Trustee to
ensure that it is made. In addition, if you have not yet renewed your
Annual Sustaining Membership - or become a first time Sustaining
Member - you can do that through the Foundation website or by
contacting your Trustee. Through your support, we are able to do some
great things each year within the District.
This year we have committed $50,000 for Club/Division Matching Grants. The grant application and requirements can be found here. Grants are awarded up to $10,000 to assist with worthwhile projects. The deadlines for applications are December 31st and June 30th.
One area we have developed over the past few years is our Scholarship Program. The Florida Kiwanis Foundation currently has the J. Walker Field Scholarship as well as the George Langguth Kiwanis Family Scholarship - each at $1,000 per year. In the near future, we will announce details of the Emilia Gugliuzza Scholarship thanks to the generosity of Imediate Past Governor Chuck and First Lady Emilia. Please see the FKF website
or your Trustee for
application deadlines / details and eligibility
requirements for each opportunity.
We are continuing our commitment to supporting our Service Leadership Programs in the District. The Foundation has once again budgeted over $45,000 in Grants Funds to be earmarked for Aktion Club, CKI, Key Club, Builders Club and K-Kids during the 2014-2015 Administrative year.
Our newest program is the Mini-Grant program. This program was started in 2012. It is a $500 grant available to assist Club/Division with certain costs associated with a worthwhile project. It is a first-come first-served grant and it can be received only once per year. It is a very popular program, so if your club/division is interested fill out the application.
The funding we provide through our Grant programs, including the SLP
funding, wouldn't be possible without your contributions to the FKF.
Please contact your Trustee to discuss all giving opportunities
available so that we can continue "Building a Legacy for the
